Eldoret 7s lands sponsorship deal with itel Mobile
This year’s Eldoret 7s, which will be held at Eldoret Sports Club on June 30, has landed a major sponsorship deal with itel Mobile.
Itel Mobile has also sponsored a similar tournament in Embu slated for July 1 at Embu stadium.
Itel Mobile will issue rugby kits to selected participating teams in the main action and to spice up the event. Their brand ambassador Avril will also make an appearance.
Speaking to Nairobi News itel Mobile said the deal was signed in early June with the aim of promoting their brand through their flagship model the itel S31.
According to the company’s Digital Marketing Manager Lucy Kemunto, the new device is already popular in the market for the quality images taken by its camera.
“With the great growth of the brand, comes social responsibility hence the reason why the company is looking forward to supporting talents and education in Kenya, which go in line with our mission and vision,” said Ms Kemunto.

The event has also attracted sponsorship and partnerships from a variety of other companies such as Kenya Rugby Union, Safaricom, the County Government of Uasin Gishu, Kenya Dairy Board, Mediheal Group of Hospitals, Pauls Bakery, Nacada, PMC, & Wheels Logistics, among others.
Meanwhile, Uasin Gishu gubernatorial candidate, Zedekiah Kiprop Bundotich, who is popularly known as Buzeki, has contributed Sh 1 million to the event’s kitty.
This year’s Eldoret 7s rugby tournament aims to be bigger and better focusing on promoting the sports tourism in the region and beyond.
The event will be graced by new teams from the country and East Africa making the event more exciting and be able to achieve its main objective, which is to campaign against drug and alcohol abuse among the youth, promoting peace and creating e a legendary event that will leave a positive impact and empower the youth within North- Rift region and beyond.
Being the most attractive rugby event in North Rift and western region, the tournament is already attracting great interest in Eldoret town and within the neighboring counties.
