Couple found dead inside their house in suspected case of double suicide


Police have launched investigations into suspected double suicide by a couple at their home in Kaumoni Village, Nguluni location in Machakos county on Sunday evening.

The incident happened after the couple travelled back home from Nairobi following the lifting of cessation of movement into and out of Nairobi by the president.

SHOCKING DISCOVERIES

The bodies of the two victims – identified as Dennis Pius, 28, and Susan Ndeto, 19 – were found hanging from ropes tied to their necks.

The shocking discoveries were made by the woman’s mother inside the couple’s two-room house, and the matter reported to the police.

According to a police statement, the woman’s body was found naked.

The couple, who used to live in Kayole estate, Nairobi are reported to have travelled from the city to their rural village on Friday.

Ndeto’s mother said that she last spoke to her daughter on Sunday morning before her mobile phone went off.

NO SUICIDE NOTE

Startled by her failure to reach her daughter on phone, the mother travel from Nairobi in a frantic search for her daughter and eventually found the two dead inside the couple’s bedroom.

The mother said she had repeatedly warned her daughter against her relationship with the much older man.

A neighbour said the couple had been last seen on Sunday morning and they both looked okay, only for their house to go silent from lunch time.

The couple did not leave behind any suicide note.

The two bodies were taken to Kangundo Level Four Hospital mortuary as investigations commence.
