Easy FM to rebrand to Nation FM
Easy FM will from Thursday midnight rebrand to Nation FM.
The radio station that was formerly dominated by Rhythm and Blues music will now have more talk and conversation on everyday life occurrences.
According to Manwa Magoma, head of radio in Nation Media Group, the station’s programming has been on the test since January.
“We have been running the breakfast show, State of the Nation, to have a lot of current affairs with topics ranging from security issues to governance,” he added.
Mr Manwa disclosed that come Thursday midnight the station will go on air as Nation FM with content tailor-made for a diverse audience.
News bulletins, for instance, will be transmitted at the top of every hour with comprehensive 15 minutes bulletins at 1pm and 6pm.
“The evening drive will have a segment on the news of the day with music that cuts across the genres,” said Mr Manwa.
Other audience needs that will be met in the new Nation FM will be the inclusion of a variety of sports news bulletins during the breakfast show and in the afternoon on weekends.
