Dutch embassy drawn into Ingwe’s tussle with former coach De Jongh
A contractual tussle involving AFC Leopards and its former coach Pieter de Jongh has since sucked in the Netherlands Embassy in Nairobi and the Kenyan Premier League’s Independent Disciplinary and Complaints Committee (IDCC)
De Jongh was fired in Janaury and is now claiming Sh 1.5 million in unpaid dues.
The Dutchman continues to reside in an apartment in Nairobi which incurs the club an extra Sh 100,000 a month in rent.
NO MONEY
“I have been approached someone at the embassy. The instructions are we should clear the man’s dues as soon as we can. But we have no money and have exhausted all avenues for borrowing,” the club’s Organising Secretary Timothy Lilumbi confirmed.
The Dutch trainer who led the club to second place during the inaugural Nile Basin regional tournament in Sudan last May has meanwhile continued to cause drama at the club’s secretariat during his occasional visits.
KPL’s CEO Jack Oguda also confirmed on Wednesday that the Prof Magai Aketch led- IDCC is set to deliver its ruling next week on a complaint filed by the coach .
“Our clubs need to operate professionally by honouring all its contractual obligations.” Oguda added.
IMPEACHING CHAIRMAN
And as if all this isn’t enough, a select group of the club’s affiliated branches are now collecting petition signatures with the a view to impeaching club Chairman Allan Kasavuli and his Secretary General George Aladwa.
