Driver of former IEBC boss charged with human trafficking

The driver of former Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) chairman Isaack Hassan has been charged with human trafficking.

The accused, Mr Mohamed Gasora Makorane, was jointly charged with an administration police officer, Ahmed Hussein, of planning to use Mr Hassan’ s official car to transport aliens from Garrisa town to Eastleigh Nairobi.

Court documents indicate that the two committed the offence at the IEBC ‘s offices at Anniversary Towers on November 23.

The accused persons were first arraigned before court two weeks ago on a miscellaneous application and police were granted time to conclude investigations.

The two denied the charges before Kibera Senior Principal Magistrate Elizabeth Juma and released on a Sh500,000 bond. The case will be heard January 27, 2017
