DP Ruto: Other men should also take care of their children

Deputy President William Ruto has muddied the waters by claiming that the woman who is suing her for upkeep of their 11-year-old daughter has three other children of her own.

The DP, in a Twitter meltdown only second to America President Donald Trump’s, said the other men should also chip in.

Mr Ruto, who is married to Rachel and are already raising six children, had on Thursday evening admitted to having sired a child with the woman.

He, however, alluded to meddling by some politicians and “busybodies”.

While he claimed that she is well taken catered for, NTV obtained pictures showing the girl riding on a boda boda.

The woman has sued the DP for child support, seeking more than Sh160,000 in cash every month plus a high lifestyle bankrolled by Mr Ruto.

ROMANTIC RELATIONSHIP

The woman, who claims to have started a romantic relationship with Mr Ruto back in 2005 while working as a receptionist in Uasin Gishu,  wants Sh30,000 every month for food, Sh80,000 for shelter, Sh35,000 for toiletries, Sh15,000 to hire a  house-help and Sh20,000 annually for clothing.

She also wants “adequate medical cover”, school fees “in a school that reflects upon the Defendant’s status as the Deputy President” and a vehicle to enable her pick and drop their child to and from school and “other places she might need to go”.

She also wants Mr Ruto to provide security personnel to protect the child. The woman also want the DP to pay the costs of the suit and “such further directions and/orders as this Honourable Court should deem fit and appropriate”.
