DJ Mo to artistes: Don’t pay for play
Popular disc jockey, DJ Mo, has warned artistes against paying DJs in exchange for airplay. DJ Mo, through his Instagram page told artistes that DJs are supposed to play music for free.
“I am a DJ because I play musicians’ work. You should not pay me to play your music, and all DJs should play music for free. We need to promote each other,” wrote DJ Mo, who owns the System Unit DJs outfit and has a weekly gospel show on NTV.
Late last year, DJ Mo was involved in a Twitter war with bloggers who accused him of discriminating against some artistes during his shows, and demanding cash for airplay, something he denied.
