DHL donates x-ray machine and equipment to Naivasha rescue centre
St Therese Development Centre in Naivasha, Nakuru County has benefited from a medical x-ray machine and assorted equipment courtesy of DHL Express.
While handing over the equipment, Andrew Mutuma, Country Manager, DHL Express Kenya, expressed the importance of making a positive contribution to the community.
DHL partnered with the center in 2006 to help realize the dream of its Director Fr Isaac Makarios who wanted to create a counseling and rehabilitation center for abused children who have nowhere to turn to after going through traumatic experiences in their lives.
Last year the company constructed a modern playground that is utilized by the children in the center as part of their rehabilitation program.
“At the heart of what we do, is connecting people, and by connecting people, DHL plays an important role in improving lives. We are pleased that we could leverage our shipping and logistics expertise to help positively impact the community,” said Mr Mutuma.
