Court now wants MP arrested for assaulting preacher
A Chief Magistrate court in Nairobi has issued an arrest warrant for Mwingi Central MP Joe Mutambu after he failed to attend court on Thursday.
The case was scheduled for a mention on Thursday.
The MP is charged with assaulting Nairobi preacher Thomas Wahome of the Helicopter of Christ Church.
Mr Mutambu had appeared before Kibera principal magistrate Benard Ochoi last week and denied the charge of allegedly assaulting the city preacher and causing him bodily harm.
He was freed on a Sh50, 000 surety bond or an alternative cash bail of Sh20, 000. He promptly paid the cash bail.
The incident happened on September 21 at the MP’s office located along Muchai drive in Kilimani area.
