Construction site manager shot dead in Muthaiga
A man in charge of a construction site in Muthaiga was shot dead on Wednesday night under unclear circumstances.
John Opiyo, a watchman at the site, told police that a gang of seven had scaled the perimeter wall and approached him brandishing firearms.
He said two of them had pistols and asked him if he was Mike, the site’s manager.
After Mr Opiyo told the gunmen that he was not Mike, they tied him up and advanced to the house of the site manager.
He said he heard gunshots after which the gang came out and fled.
Owners of the construction site arrived at the scene an hour later and untied the watchman.
Inside the house, they found Mike’s body lying a pool of blood. Empty cartridges were also found at the scene.
The body of the deceased was taken to City Mortuary.
