Construction firms to showcase new technologies at expo

A building and construction extravaganza opens at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre on Friday, giving attendees a chance to sample the latest industry technologies.

The 17th BuildExpo Africa 2014 will draw participants from 35 countries and will be the largest ever to be held in East Africa.

The event will kick off with a one-day informative business meeting where topics will include opportunities in property, real estate and ongoing projects in the country.

Experts

Expogroup Worldwide are the organisers of this year’s event that brings together over 320 exhibitors to showcase products.

Exhibition manager at the Expogroup, Neville Trindade said most participants have been in the industry long enough and are experts in their field.

“Attendees will learn a lot about industry success stories and sample some of the latest technologies in construction,” he said.

Business relations

The fair will feature other exciting components such as heavy equipment and machinery which will take place at the courtyard and the tickets are already sold out.

“The promptness of the business community towards the fair shows that they now fully understand the importance and opportunities that are presented by the fair as well as the long term business relations it will create,” said Mr Trindade.

He explained that the tickets sold out owing to the growing number of foreign investors targeting the Kenyan market which serves as the East African business hub.

“The fair has grown in stature and influence as foreign and local companies shift focus to be on top of the game,” he said.
