Coach Tim Bryett quits Thika United
After a spate of poor results that has seen his team drop second to 11th position in the 2015 Kenyan Premier League table, Thika United coach Tim Bryett has quit his job.
Thika has recorded seven straight losses in the second leg of the season, the latest being a 2-1 home loss against Bandari.
The Briton, who has had short stints coaching Nairobi City Stars and lower tier side Ligi Ndogo, said club sponsors Brookside Dairy were unhappy with the results, but that his departure was based on mutual consent.

“It is with regret that I announce my departing from Thika United as head coach by mutual consent. Unfortunately, we were unable to recreate the good form we achieved in the first half of the season in the second half of the season, thus pressure from the sponsor to make this change,” Brytte said in his resignation letter.
“I regret we couldn’t maintain the second and third league position we worked ourselves into during the first half of the season. Most importantly I would like to thank the players, for training those many extra hours, responding passionately and professionally to my many demands for hard work and improvement, many of whom have become my sons in football,” the coach said.
Brytte’s erstwhile assistant Moses Irungu will temporarily step in to the coach role as the club management searches for a suitable replacement.
