Coach Bobby Ogolla in hospital in critical condition
Gor Mahia assistant coach John Bobby Ogolla is fighting for his life at Kenyatta National Hospital where he is at the intensive care unit following a bout of Malaria.
Ogolla was admitted on Sunday in critical condition and was later transferred to the ICU where he is currently being treated.
The former Kenya international is the second member of the club with a health scare. Defender Solomon Nasio has for the past months had difficulty in breathing following a fractured nose in past match.
Gor Mahia senior vice chairman Francis Erick confirmed that the tactician is at the hospital and is receiving treatment.
“The doctors are doing their best to treat him, and we are confident all will be well with him,” said Erick.
He added that both players and officials have been visiting Ogolla at the hospital to support him and his family.
Ogolla has been touted as one of the best footballers the country has ever produced, and was the club’s most outstanding defender in the mid 1980s.
