CNN under pressure to apologize on air for terror gaffe

Kenyan on Twitter now want American cable news channel CNN to apologise on air after portraying Kenya as a ‘hotbed of terror’ ahead of President Barack Obama visit to Kenya.

CNN’s Global Executive Vice President and Managing Director, Tony Maddox, flew to Nairobi from Atlanta to personally deliver the apology to President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Mr Maddox admitted that the description of Kenya as a “hotbed of terror” was both ill-fitting and undeserved.

But Kenyans on Twitter now want the apology to be given the same prominence on air just as the original story.
