Jacob Juma: I transacted deal worth Sh80 billion last week

Controversial businessman Jacob Juma caused a stir on social media this week after bragging about sealing a multibillion-shilling deal last week in Mozambique.

Juma, who responding to comments by a critic – one Maxwell Lebo – on his Facebook page, claimed to have transacted $800 million (Sh80 billion) gas projects in Mozambique.

During the exchange, Juma also advised Lebo to channel his “negative energy” to help sort his “poverty”.
And he wasn’t done just yet.

In the same post, Juma said he has been a billionaire since 1995 and even went as far as referring to Sh600 million as pocket change.

PETTY CASH

The full rant by Juma to Lebo read as follows; “Maxwell Lebo, I was a billionaire by 1995. You are talking about maize contract of yesterday which was breached and the case is still in court. I have no problem of petty cash of Ksh600 million. Last week alone, I transacted $800 million (Ksh80 billion) gas projects in Mozambique. Get your negative energy to help sort out your poverty. You are lucky that you can engage me on FB courtesy of Zuckerberg. Otherwise, enjoy,”

This post was immediately shared across social media while eliciting various reaction.

Catelyne Maliasia wrote: “(This are) the people to surround yourself with,” while Igonyi Esare posed; “Is the Billionaire taken? We need another simple wedding,”

Juma, a sworn critic of Jubilee administration, has never been far away from controversy.

Courtesy of his official Facebook and Twitter pages, he has continuously accused high profile Government figures of engaging in corruption.

DEFAMATION

Infact, he has been sued by Supreme Court Judge Njoki Ndung’u for defamation, over the saga where allegedly Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero is accused of giving Sh200 million to Justice Philip Tonui to rule in his favour in an election petition.

Juma is reported to live a flashy lifestyle, being chauffeured around in a Rolls Royce, wearing designer suits imported from fashion houses and living in some of the posh estates in Nairobi.
