City road worker dies after being run over by roller while on the phone
Work at a road construction site in Embakasi West came to a standstill on Thursday afternoon after a worker was run over by a roller while on the phone.
The worker at the ongoing road construction in Kwa Maji, Mowlem, was talking on the phone before he was run over by the road roller.
Speaking at the scene of the accident, Embakasi West Member of Parliament George Theuri urged the workers to be careful and observe safety measures.
“A sad encounter as we have lost one worker who was working on the ongoing Kwa Maji to Baraka road after he was run over by the roller as he was talking on phone. I send my condolences to the family and I just urge all people to be careful and observe safety measures as we continue working on the road projects,” Mr Theuri said.
Police took he body of tye deceased to City mortuary and work resumed soon after.
