WATER RATIONING: Here are the estates that will miss water


Water supply to Nairobi residents will be rationed for the next seven days to allow for maintenance works in the supply lines.

The partial water supply will run from Monday at 6am to Sunday at 6pm,  according to a statement released by the Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company Limited.

The interruption is meant to facilitate maintenance and rehabilitation works along the Sasumua – Kabete water transmission pipeline in the Aberdares forest.

The water company said the repairs were to enhance water supply to the city.

Areas to be affected are  Waiyaki Way, Naivasha Road, Kangemi, Lavington, Westlands, Parklands, M.P. Shah Hospital, Aga Khan Hospital, and ILRI, Upper Hill and Kilimani.

Other areas to be affected include, Nairobi Hospital, Kenyatta National Hospital and Community area.

Nairobi University main campus halls of residence will also be affected, along with Upper and Lower Kabete campus, University of Nairobi and Kenyatta University Parklands law campuses.

The statement also added that estates around Kenyatta market, Kibera, Jamhuri, Ngando, Riruta Satelite, Dagoreti Corner and Kawagaware will be without water.

Areas along Lang’ata, Madaraka, Mbagathi and Ngong road and Karen will also be affected.
