City matatus battle for top honours

It is pomp and colour at KICC as city matatu owners and operators battle it out for top honours in the ‘Nganya’ awards.

Matatus are feting the best among their ranks in the Saturday event that will recognize the best Sacco, the best driver, the best conductor, most compliant route and the most compliant vehicle among other fields.

The awards seeks to shed of the image of Nairobi matatus,  typical for their obscene graffiti, loud music and flouting of traffic rules.
