City Hall issues sack threat to striking Nairobi doctors

By EUNICE KILONZO September 20th, 2016 1 min read

City Hall has issued a day-long ultimatum to striking doctors to resume work or lose their jobs.

County Secretary Dr Robert Ayisi announced that the striking doctors have until close of business Tuesday to resume work or their jobs will be advertised.

Dr Ayisi said the doctors should respect a court order that had suspended the strike.

The order issued on September 19 had nullified the strike and will be in force until September 29, he argued.

Dr Ayisi added that the county has written appointment letters for 37 doctors, but only two doctors have  picked their. The appointment letters were one of six other issues that the striking doctors are demanding to be addressed.
