City businessman, Paul Kobia, granted bond in abduction case
A controversial businessman and his four workers, who are accused of abducting and assaulting a Congolese will not spend the night in police custody after they were granted bond.
The court released them on a Sh 200, 000 bond each on Thursday.
The Magistrate, Miriam Mugure, said the suspects were arrested in their homes, a confirmation that they are Kenyans and cannot run away.

She also ordered the five to report to Kilimani Police Station daily for three consecutive days and cooperate with the police in the investigations.
The four suspects, who appeared in court alongside Kobia are Alvin Anzaya, Nelson Moyi, John Mutwiri and Martin Mwangi.
Police want them charged with kidnapping, assault and misuse of firearm.
The police had asked the court to detain the suspects for 14 days pending investigations.
SHOTGUN
The police also said they had confiscated a shotgun allegedly used in the incident that needed to be taken for ballistic tests.
The police described the five as persons of means who are a flight risk and could interfere with investigations.
Police also said the suspects were arrested Thursday at 4.30a.m at Muzima Springs in Kileleshwa.
The court heard that Mr Blanchard Condole, who was allegedly kidnapped at a Spa on Kindaruma Road in the same area, is admitted to Nairobi Women Hospital with serious injuries.
In 2015, Mr Kobia was arrested after he started shouting that he knew the circumstances under which former Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s son Fidel died.
