Citi Hoppa ordered to pay Sh2.8 million

Citi Hoppa Limited has been ordered to pay its former landlord Sh2.8million repair costs.

The claim by Tractor Company (K) Ltd arose under a  two-year Tenancy Agreement dated July 26, 2006 on a property located along Kampala Road.

However, Citi Hoppa defaulted on its rent and quit the premises. The transporter later settled Sh9.6million (rent arrears) and Sh78, 099 (water consumption bill) leaving the Sh2.85million (premises repairs) unpaid.

Tractor Company had on February 2008 assessed the damages that Citi Hoppa had caused on the premises which amounted to Sh2.85million.

The court ruled that the transporter was liable.
