Why Uhuru men will watch banned erotic movie 50 Shades of Grey

State House Director of Digital Media and Diaspora Communication Dennis Itumbi has declared that he will ignore the government’s ban on erotic movie 50 Shades of Grey.

In a long post on Facebook that he claimed to have co-authored with presidential scriptwriter Eric Ng’eno, Itumbi stated that since the movie is based on a book that was not outlawed, the ban was pointless.

“In my experience, all movies based on books generally fall below expectation in terms of impact or even fidelity to the message or even impact on the imagination,” said Mr Itumbi.

He added that the Kenya Films Classification Board’s decision failed the feasibility, rationality and basic intelligence test as the books are still on sale.

SEXUALLY EXPLOSIVE

“According to witness accounts, the books are out of this world. Every paragraph. Every passage. Every page. Graphic. Deliriously, exquisitely, intoxicatingly, sexually explosive…. So what is the reason for the ban?” posed the digital head.

Mr Itumbi admitted that despite not having read the book on which the banned movie is based, he still thinks that the ban will arouse curiosity and lead to even a better audience for it.

“Banning drives things underground. Underground is exhilarating. Banning kills us with curiosity. It makes us itch to see this thing that attracted a BAN,” he added.

The board on Tuesday banned the much-awaited movie on grounds that it had not been rated locally.

Kenyans on social media while reacting to the ban stated that the move made them even want to watch it more.

Kenyans bought bootleg copies of the movie Wolf Of Wall Street –another X-rated movie that had been banned from Kenya last year.
