US based Kenyan producer to open music studio in Nairobi


US based music company, Next Level Music Production Company, will be opening a studio in Nairobi in October this year.

The music label, owned by producer Joash Okore, will be opening the Nairobi studio as part of its expansion strategy.

The 31 year-old producer, popularly known as Joashstilltheman on Youtube, announced the plans on Facebook and urged Kenyan musicians interested in having their music produced by the company to book for sessions.

“As some of you may know, I work with NxT LvL Imagery and NxT LvL Music in the US. As part of expansion, we are branching out to Kenya. I will be coming to Nairobi in October, 2015.”

DIASPORA

The company was started in 2005 and has been producing music for diaspora artistes.

The Nairobi studio will be offering recording, mixing and mastering services to artistes and will have an offer for those who book to be the first clients in October.

“It is a beginning of great things and we are optimistic about this new opportunity. For those that have desired to work with us, you can book your sessions now.

“Also those interested in employment opportunities and networking, contact me and let’s touch base,”  he told Nairobi News.

Polly Odotte, Joash’s niece, will be taking over management of the US branch where she has been working as the creative director.

GOSPEL

Joashstilltheman boasts of 81,000 subscribers on his Youtube music channel that promotes Kenyan gospel music.

Gospel musicians promoted in the YouTube channel include Sarah K, Betty Bayo, Paul Mwai, Eunice Njeri, Kambua, Pitson, Emmy Kosgei, Jimmy Gait and Joyce Omondi.

He is a trained audio producer who has been based in the United States with the company.
