Tears, laughter as Joey Muthengi bids farewell to Citizen TV
Citizen TV anchor Joey Muthengi said adios to her fans on Friday night as she finally made it official that she will no longer be working at Royal Media Services.
The host of ‘Day Break’ and ‘10 over 10‘ handed her resignation letter on Wednesday afternoon after she was called for disciplinary action for engaging with a rival company.
Her co-host Willis Raburu took to social media and wished her well in everything she does.
“You inspire me with your passion and meticulous planning, your organization and your amazing spirit. Most people don’t even understand our chemistry or how hard it is to find in this industry. Outside of it you are my friend. Never judging, always protecting and simply put, you get me,” he posted.

“So this is my last 10 Over 10 show. You may have read things, but I just want to clear the air because am not going to say this again. I want to thank my producer Alex who gave me this opportunity and my co-host wild Willis and everyone who has been working behind the scenes” Joey said.
She added on social media; “Tonight I laughed, cried, danced…sometimes at the same damn time ? Thanks for tuning in to my final 10/10 show. Still hasn’t sunk in yet. So many emotions. Like who cries on national TV??”

Nairobi News had on Thursday exclusively revealed that the former rapper surprised Royal media disciplinary team with a one week resignation notice.
Muthengi was being accused of doing business with betting company Betin yet Royal Media services have their own Shabiki which as an employee of the company she should be promoting.
The presenter was recently welcomed as Betin brand ambassador after signing a deal that reportedly earned her a six-figure amount.
The sassy presenter is reportedly leaving soon to Italy to go and shoot another advert for the betting company.
In the adverts Muthengi is paired with Kenyan star footballer McDonald Mariga in the new marketing campaign and as joint ambassadors has seen them travel together to different destinations.
Mariga signed a reported Sh8 million yearlong deal with Betin in 2017 to feature in the firm’s adverts.
