Prince Harry is finally engaged with his girlfriend US actress Meghan Markle, one year after they started dating.
The two lovebirds are expected to tie the knot between September and December in 2018 in yet another lavish royal ceremony.
Harry is 33 while Meghan is 36.
After their wedding, the two will be residing at Nottingham Cottage at the Kensington Palace in London.
Prince and Meghan have kept their love affair a top secret, and the pair was only seen together in public in September during the Invictus Games, an international sporting event to celebrate injured soldiers.
According to the royal family, only the Queen and members of the inner circle of the Queen’s family were privy to the engagement which took place in London.
Among the high dignitaries who congratulated the two were Harry’s brother Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton, his grandmother the Queen and British Prime Minister Ms Theresa May.
“I would like to offer my very warmest congratulations to HRH (his royal highness) Prince Harry and Meghan Markle upon their engagement,” tweeted the Prime Minister.
May went on: “This is a time of huge celebration for two people in love and, on behalf of myself, the Government and the country, I wish them great happiness for the future.”
Meghan divorced film producer Trevor Engelson.
She is notable for her role in Suits. She is, however, expected to quit the role after her engagement to Harry.
