Here is the next generation of film makers
Twenty budding filmmakers from Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, and Ethiopia have landed an opportunity to learn the trade over a one-year period, courtesy of Multichoice Kenya.
This after Multichoice Kenya on Tuesday officially launched its Talent Factory Academy in East Africa.
The 20 film production candidates will be provided with necessary skills in cinematography, editing, audio production and storytelling.
The candidates are set to begin their one year training this month at the academy situated at the Multichoice Kenya headquarters in Ngong, Nairobi.
According to Multichoice Northern Region Director Maharage Chande, the initiative is to create opportunities to young future creatives.

“The key to longevity of our culture, industry and storytelling traditions lies in the opportunities we create to establish creative professionals to exercise their craft while simultaneously mentoring the next generation. The Multichoice Talent Factory is a critical link to realizing this dream,” Chande said.
Information and Communication Cabinet Secretary Jospeh Mucheru, who was the chief guest at the event, praised the initiative for supporting the creative industry, stating that his Ministry is out to offer any relevant assistance to help create jobs for many jobless youths in the film industry.
