King Kaka throws shade at Maina Kageni for obsession with Wasafi songs

Kenyan rapper King Kaka threw shade at popular radio presenter Maina Kageni over his preference for bongo music and he appeared to miss it.

A video on the presenter’s Instagram timeline opens with him asking King Kaka, “eti show yangu huanza aje?” The musician, who at the time was sipping on some refreshment, lifts his head and dishes it out to Maina.

“Show yako huanza hivi, ‘ayo lizer’,” he says. For starters, ayo lizer is a common phrase in most Tanzanian music produced by Wasafi Records (WCB) which is owned by bongo star Diamond Platinumz.

BONGO MUSIC

The phrase is simply a big up to WCB main producer Lizer Classic. Maina then makes fun of the moment as he says he’s the latest signing of WCB.

Kaka then goes on to give him a stage name, Kagens or Kagengs, sending the presenter in stitches.

Maina, who is a morning presenter on Kenya’s Classic 105, has a knack for bongo music and particularly songs produced under the Wasafi Records label.

While the station is designed to play classic songs, Maina often sneaks in freshly released bongo songs amid hype and reminds.
