Jimmy Gait’s new hit ‘Sponsor Ni Yesu’ draws critical reviews
Gospel singer Jimmy Gait’s new single ‘Sponsor Ni Yesu’ has received harsh reviews days after being released.
Critics said the song failed to live up to expectations and that the singer lowered the bar compared to his previous hits.
Gait appeared to latch on the popularity of the urban colloquial ‘sponsor’ as the title of the song.
“Nowadays, a lot of young people are looking for an easy way out to get to a good life, hence quite a bunch of them are looking for sponsors,” said Gait
“Am a strong believer of hard work and process to gain success in life. This song is dedicated to young people, who want an easy life and quick success to remind them that Jesus is the real Sponsor who when they come to Him can get all they need, of course through the right ways, and not regret later,” he explained on his YouTube channel.
The singer is yet to release a video for the song and already Kenyans on Twitter have shown their dislike for the song. Some users have heavily condemned the singer for referring to Jesus as a ‘Sponsor’.
