Huddah claims she acted as ‘Kayai’ on Vitimbi, but Kenyans are not convinced

Kenyan socialite Huddah Monroe now claims she once acted as the late Mzee Ojwang’s daughter, Kayai, on comedy show, Vitimbi earning just Sh500.

The socialite, who popularized the ‘sponsor’ tagline, took to her Instagram page to pay tribute to the fallen hero and made the startling ‘revelation’.

“RIP Mzee Ojwang…… I remember days when I acted as Kayai on Vitimbi , stuff only a few people know. He was the most funniest , humble guy I’ve ever met …….RIP legend , we will miss you . #16WasAGoodYear #TheHustleWasReal,” Huddah posted.

And as if to preempt “doubting Thomases”, the former Big Bro Africa contestant added: “KBC totally needs to give me my videos lol @njoroge_wa_njuguna , kuna Watu hawajui hustle Ni Nini. And I think I was being paid Sh500.”

On the Vitimbi show, which aired for 40 years on Kenya Broadcasting Corporation, Mzee Ojwang’ acted as the husband of Mama Kayai (Mary Khavere).

However, Mama Kayai’s daughter did not feature on the show, at least for the better part of it.

So, did you ever watch Huddah cast as Mama Kayai? Well, you are not the only one who didn’t.

Instagram user @naenci said: “Just curious, which year was this, nilikua nishaacha kuona vitimbi ama?? I never saw kayai aki.”

Another user @timothymutuake said: “I never knew you were the Kayai…”, while @fashiongalorelovers was also equally dismayed: “Didnt know u acted Kayai, May he rest in peace.”

But @sassy.graham even found it funny, posting: “Hahaha oh no so this chic acted as kayai kumbe vitimbi nlikua na watch ilikua different.”

@djcibin254 said: “R.I.P mzee Ojwang. @huddahthebosschick u were the Kayai?? Didn’t notice.”
