Xtreem Teeniz Awards founder and events organizer Peter Mulei was arrested last Friday over what he terms as malicious allegations of kidnap and sodomy.

Mr Mulei was released from police custody on Wednesday evening and now says his life is in danger.

Speaking exclusively to Nairobi News, the popular events organizer said that he was taken into custody on Friday afternoon while on his way to his cousin’s graduation ceremony at Inoorero University.

“I had given four people from my neighbourhood a lift that day, but when we reached Mathare from Kasarani, one of my passengers almost jumped out of the moving car when I slowed down. That’s when drama started,” he narrated the ordeal.

FRACAS

When he finally stopped the car, the other three passengers also got out of the car and a crowd formed immediately.

“My phone, cash and other personal effects were stolen in the fracas and the next thing was that I was taken to Muthaiga police station,” he said.

Upon reaching the station, Mulei says he was immediately booked in and accused of sodomising one of the boys he had given a lift.

“Since Friday, it has been an up and down case, with me being moved between Muthaiga and Kasarani police stations,” said Mulei.

REFUSE TEST

“In the end, the boy refused to be tested by the government doctor and that’s how the police got to know that it could be lies that I sodomised him.”

Since Friday, Mulei has also not been arraigned in court to answer to any charges.

“There are people who are planning to make me live in fear,” he said.

Mulei has been doing the final touches for the second annual Xtreem Teeniz Awards, to be held on December 14 at the KICC.
