Eunice Njeri ran away with marriage papers, says officiating pastor

The pastor who officiated the wedding of gospel musician Eunice Njeri to rapper Isaac Bukasa has confirmed that the document signed was a marriage certificate which the Nimekubali singer ran away with.

Pastor Jackson Kingori of Neema Gospel Church in Texas exclusively told Nairobi News by phone that the document was issued by the county registrar and it became legal when he signed it.

It was however to be taken back for filing but Ms Njeri ran away with it a day after the wedding.

“I signed as the officiating minister, their best maid and man signed and the document became official… Njeri knows that. The decision to go their separate ways was not mutual. I’m told she disappeared the day after the wedding and she ran away with the document,” said Pastor Kingori.

PLANNING THE WEDDING

The church did not have a copy as this was to be done the Monday after the wedding.

“It is very heartbreaking I must admit, given the fact that all through we were instrumental in planning the wedding. It is also heartbreaking for the young man who loves Njeri even to date. But we are praying that God will restore them,” Pastor Kingori told Nairobi News.

The pastor said he had a session with the couple, their best maid and man as well as family on Saturday evening before the wedding on Sunday.

“Njeri called her father on my request as I insisted that even though he was not going to be present, he should give the consent for his daughter to get married. We did a conference call with all people in the meeting listening and he gave his go ahead,” said Pastor Kingori.

The officiating pastor added that there was no worrying signs as everything went on well.

MARRIAGE ANNULLED

“We did not foresee that (the separation) coming. We are not condemning any one of them and we are praying for both of them for healing and strength,” concluded Pastor Kingori.

Ms Njeri shocked her fans on Wednesday when she said her marriage was annulled on the wedding day and no papers were signed.

On Friday, Lize Bukasa a sister to the rapper uploaded a video of the couple, witnesses and the officiating pastor signing a document during the ceremony.

Ms Njeri commented on the post that the document was a marriage license that expired after 30 days of not signing the final certificate in court. She also claimed that what they signed was a blank document for formality.
