Diamond to donate ‘Utanipenda’ proceeds

Bongo star Diamond Platnumz is proving why he is one of East Africa’s favourite celebrities and why fans continue to fall in love with him and his music.
The Tanzanian musician, who recently released a new song titled Utanipenda, has pledged to donate half of the proceeds from the song to a children’s ward in January as a way of giving back to society and to his fans who have supported his music career.
Diamond revealed this in an Instagram post.
“This song wasn’t just meant to entertain but to educate… that’s why I decided to donate 50 per cent of the revenue I’ll get from (mobile operator) Tigo and (download platform) Mkito to say thank you to parents and children for supporting me…” he wrote.
Diamond has also been giving fans exclusive, behind-the-scenes peeks of the video in which he features his Ugandan girlfriend and socialite Zari.
