Cruise ships now come lining for Kenyan sea travel enthusiasts

A tour company based in the country has launched a service targeting Kenyan lovers of cruise holidaying.

Holiday Bazaar announced the launch of the Cruise and Travel Planners, which it said specifically targets the Kenyan traveller, with links to some of the most renowned cruise liners globally.

Speaking during the launch at the Sarit Center in Westlands, Holiday Bazaar and Cruise and Travel Planners Managing Director Nishma Shah noted there is a growing local demand for cruise tourism.

“We see a huge demand for cruise tourism domestically. Kenyan travellers cannot get enough of the experience. With a 99.9% satisfaction guaranteed, it makes for an attractive holiday package regardless of age,” Shah said.

“With our expertise in understanding the local market coupled with our unique partnerships with the likes of Royal Caribbean and Crystal Cruises, we are able to offer an unparalleled cruise booking service not currently available in Kenya.”

The tour and travel company indicated that Kenyan cruise ship enthusiasts will be able to choose package offers from up to 20 cruise liner options with travel destination across the world.

Any Kenyan seeking the cruise travel will have to part with between Sh15,000 per person, per day for a 7 night cruise up to $500 Sh50,000 based on their preferences.

The announcement comes in the face of the construction of the new cruise terminal at the Mombasa Port which is anticipated to be inaugurated in 2020 to compete with Egypt.

The event was also attended by top representatives from Crystal Cruises and Royal Caribbean.
