Citizen TV anchor Janet Mbugua delivers bundle of joy

Citizen TV anchor Janet Mbugua on Monday gave birth to her first born son, Ethan Huru Ndichu, barely a week after going off air for her maternity leave.

The news anchor took to Instagram to share the news, reposting her husband’s photo with the caption, “#ThankYouGod.”

Ms Mbugua managed a smile in the only photo shared by the couple on Monday morning as her husband Eddy Ndichu showed off their son.

Mr Ndichu was the first to break the news, captioning his photo on Instagram: “Ethan Huru Ndichu. The heir is born! We thank God for the safe arrival of our son.”

BABY-SHOWER

Ms Mbugua was active throughout her pregnancy save for her first trimester when she confessed to struggling with morning sickness. The sassy TV anchor was on Saturday afternoon still strong enough to attend her baby-shower at the Zen Gardens.

The couple wedded in an elegant garden wedding on May 30, 2015 at the Chaka Ranch in Nyeri. Speculations of the TV anchor’s pregnancy started on her wedding day after she walked down the aisle unveiled.

But she only confirmed the pregnancy later when it was 30 weeks old as she partnered with a health insurance company who had signed her as their brand ambassador.

Since then, Ms Mbugua has been documenting her pregnancy journey on the insurer’s website through weekly blog posts.

Both Ms Mbugua and her husband have twin siblings. This had sparked speculations that the couple was expecting twins. But early this month Mr Ndichu announced that it would be a boy.
