Churchill Show to celebrate Ayeiya’s life

Kenyan comedians will on Thursday evening come together to pay tribute to their departed colleague Emmanuel Makori aka “Ayieya Poa Poa.”

The comedians will converge at the Carnivore grounds for the special tribute edition of the weekly Churchill Show which airs on NTV every Sunday.

The show’s host and celebrated comedian Daniel Ndambuki commonly referred to as Churchill announced this development on his official social media page.

He also confirmed that all proceeds from this initiative will be channeled towards the departed comedian’s family.

ROAD ACCIDENT

Makori made his name for his rib cracking comedy set-ups on the Churchill Show over the years, most of which were followed up by the signature greeting – “Ayieya, Poa Poa”

Separately, the Nation Media Group which has been supporting local comedy by airing this show on NTV for the past decade, has placed up newspaper adverts to celebrate Makori’s life, and create awareness ahead of Thursday’s function.

Ayieya

Makori succumbed to injuries following a tragic road accident last week, a death that has shocked and united the whole country with condolences trickling in from as high up as the Presidency.

A funeral service in Makori’s honour was on Wednesday celebrated at a Nairobi church with several comedians and the who is who in the celebrity world in attendance.
