Chipukeezy appointed Nacada board member


Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiang’i has appointed popular comedian Chipukeezy – real name Vincent Mwasia – as a member to the Board of Directors at the National Authority for the Campaign Against Drug Abuse (Nacada).

The appointment, which will be effective over a three-year period, has been made public in a Gazette Notice No. 5593.

“In exercise of the powers conferred by section 6 (1) of the National Authority for the Campaign Against Alcohol and Drug Abuse Act, the Cabinet Secretary, Interior and Co-ordination of National Government appoints Vincent Mwasia Mutua and George Ogalo to be members of the National Authority for the Campaign Against Alcohol and Drug Abuse Board, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from the 6th June, 2018,” reads the gazette notice dated the 5th June, 2018” the Gazette Notice reads in part.

CONGRATULATORY MESSAGE

After his appointment, Chipukeezy took to social media account to express his gratitude.

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank God, H.E the President, the Deputy President for the appointment into the National Authority for the Campaign Against Alcohol and Drug Abuse Board (Nacada). This is very humbling and I promise to work very hard towards ensuring that the task ahead is accomplished as per expectations,” he wrote.

Chipukeezy also received a congratulatory message from his predecessor at Nacada Charles Njagua aka Jaguar who is the current MP for Starehe.

“Congratulations Chipukeezy on your appointment as a Director at Nacada… wish u well my brother,” Jaguar wrote.
