Chatter as Citizen TV replaces Anne Kiguta from Monday bulletin

Citizen TV has replaced Anne Kigutua from her Monday prime time slot, giving the strongest indication that the celebrity anchor might be leaving the station.

During the recent rebranding, Kiguta was assigned the Monday Special new bulletin that airs on Mondays.

However, in the past few days, the station has been running promos indicating the Hussein Mohammed, who anchors the news on Tuesdays and Yvonne Okwara, who handles the Thursday bulletin, would team up on Mondays.

Sources close to the anchor said that she had taken a hiatus from the station to attend to a personal matter abroad, and that will be back in January 2019.

However, there was widespread speculation that she was headed to K24.

The station, which has been linked with the first family, has hired Betty Kyallo, another celebrity anchor, ahead of a major re-launch.

The station recently lost two other anchors Jacque Maribe and Waihiga Mwaura who are responsible for Friday night bulletin.

While Waihiga is in London, UK after winning a prestigious BBC award, Maribe in custody over the murder of businesswoman Monica Kimani last month.

Lillian Muli, who anchors the news on Saturday, has taken over the Friday segment.
