Alex Chamwada makes comeback on TV

Former Citizen TV political reporter Alex Chamwada is back as an independent content producer and host of a weekly show set to air on KTN.

In December last year, the journalist had cited his desire for a change and to move to the next level as an independent content producer as reasons for resigning from Citizen TV .

The career switch led to the birth of his own production company, Chams Media, that will produce the new weekly show on KTN to be hosted by Chamwada himself.

The journalist had in the interim been running a YouTube page on which he uploaded interviews on diplomacy and diplomatic relations.

Chamwada, who started his broadcast career 20 years ago as an intern at KBC, had been venturing into development journalism by the time he quit Citizen TV.

His love for development journalism saw him cover an award winning series on large scale farming in Somalia.

The series was funded by a grant obtained through a competition organized by the African Media Initiative which has a programme – African Story Challenge competition – that supports development journalism.

Chamwada’s interest in covering stories that create an impact in lives is what prompted his move to become an independent content producer.
