British Airways discounts Nairobi babies to celebrate Princess Charlotte

Families travelling from Nairobi aboard British Airways will not be charged for infants and will have their 2-12 year-olds discounted.

The airline announced the move to celebrate the birth of Prince William’s second born, Princess Charlotte of Cambridge, who is fourth in line to the throne.

In a press statement the airline announced, “The airline is offering free travel for babies (infants under two years) flying with Mom and Dad and discounts of 75 per cent off the usual seat fares for children between 2 and 12 years.”

Before the offer, infants were paying 10 per cent of the adult fare and children above two years and below 12 years were paying between 67-75 per cent of the adult fare.

For those travelling to London for instance, adults will pay $761 while 2-12 year olds pay $190 and infants free while in the past they would have been charged $76.

Other destinations that the airline flies to from Nairobi include Paris in France, New York in the USA, Frankfurt in Germany and Toronto in Canada.

HOLIDAY DESTINATIONS

With all of them being holiday destinations, the airline added that the move was to allow Kenyan families to take their young ones for vacations.

“To celebrate the birth of the royal baby, British Airways is offering Kenyan travelers a chance to take their own little princes or princesses on their next family holiday,” the stated said.

The offer is available from May 5 to May 17 and for outbound travel between May 5 to June 20 and again October 1 to December 9.

Princess Charlotte was born on Saturday ending the long wait for the royal baby but she started yet another debate on her naming.

Days after her birth, on Monday, is when the world got to know of her name Charlotte Elizabeth Diana a combination of the most popular name voted by fans, her great-grandmother’s name (Queen Elizabeth) and her late grandmother’s name (Princess Diana).
