Nairobi blogger Robert Alai has alleged that he is being investigated after posting government officials’ personal telephone numbers on twitter.

The blogger has for the last two days been posting on how he is being summoned by various security officers.

A call by Nairobi News  to Mr Muhoro’s office  on Tuesday to confirm the allegations was answered by his an officer who said the director and all senior officers were in a meeting till later in the afternoon.

On Sunday, the blogger gave tweeps supposed telephone numbers of the President’s, deputy President’s, State House spokesperson and personal assistant to the President, urging them to ask them about the passengers stuck in  Kainuk, Turkana county.

Hours after his update, rumors about Alai’s arrest filled social media platforms, sentiments that the blogger was quick to dispel, posting a photo on instagram captioned ‘Not been arrested. Ignore the rumors.’

On Monday, Alai announced that he had been summoned by various security agencies. “CID HQ summoning, Central Police summoning, NBI area summoning. It’s like everybody wants to please the President.”

By close of business Monday, it was still unclear what the outcome of the summons were, but on Tuesday, the blogger posted that two deputy directors of CID had seen no offense was committed but that the CID Director had ordered for his arrest.

An hour later, he posted that he was going to the Embakasi DCIO to be arrested adding that “The charge is not even sharing the contacts of the President but calling what they are doing in Kibera ‘Kalongolongo’ (child’s play).”
