Bishop shoots to instant fame after unfollowing 21K people on Twitter


Few knew her before Tuesday. But Apostle M. M. Wangui, founder of The Will of God Church & Ministries, shot to instant fame Tuesday after she unfollowed more than 21,000 on the same day, drawing the ire of Kenyans on Twitter (KOT).

The apostle, who has more than 254,000 followers, later apologized. “Dear friends, I would love to apologise for the massive unfollowing that occurred with my account in the last 24 hours. Solving this ASAP,” she tweeted.

“This wasn’t intentional, my account might have been affect (sic) by some web applications that caused it to unfollow 21k tweeps. Rectifying this.”

But KOT gave her a piece of their minds for the apparent diva behavior using the hashtag #SomeoneTellApostleMWangui.

A Twitter user Franco (‏@ItsFrancoh) said: “#SomeoneTellApostleMWangui she unfollowed me but I pray she doesn’t unfollow Christ too.”

Naff Macharia (‏@NaffMacharia) wrote, “Kidogo kidogo utaskia @ApostleMMWangui akisema whoever unfollows me will turn into some stone of SALT. That is the most DUMPEST explanation i have ever heared (sic). Lying in the name of the LORD.”

Another Twitter user (@khoi_sam) added: “#SomeoneTellApostleMWangui I have not posted any nudes!!why did she unfollow me? Hehe”, while Bob Odhiambo (‏@Bob_Odhiambo) said, “Apparently @ApostleMMWangui is too big to follow anyone.

Her attitude has angered KOT, the online battalion. #SomeoneTellApostleMWangui”
