A bishop was carjacked and robbed of Sh320, 000 and his firearm in Kasarani on Monday night.

Nairobi County police commander Benson Kibui said that Mr John Kigoi Nduati, the presiding bishop of Gods Power Church and Ministry, was driving from Thika to Njiru when he was blocked by a white Toyota Probox with four occupants at Mwiki at around 8pm.

He was pushed to the back seat of his car and later abandoned in Mihango, Kayole after they robbed him of the cash and his Ceska pistol loaded with 14 rounds of ammunition.

The robbers also drove away with his car, a white Toyota NZE. He was however not njured.

Pastor Nduati who once described his church as ‘the last hospital in Africa’ claimed that he could heal Aids victims.

He had in the past gone to court and complained that his estranged wife, Dorcas Mugure Kamau, had been harassing him after their marriage was dissolved by a court of law in 2010.

Elsewhere, Mr Kibue also said that gunmen carjacked a family at the gate of their residence in Olekeri, Ongata Rongai and took them to the ATM lobby where they forced the man to withdraw Sh30, 000.

Mr Mark Oluoch was driving in company of his two daughters when they were confronted by four men, one armed with a pistol, as they were entering their compound.

They took control of the car and drove with them to Ngong where they forced him to withdraw cash from a Barclays ATM. They also robbed them of cash, a laptop and mobile phones.
