Top musicians to hold family concert for NTV host Janet Kanini

Kenyan musicians and media personalities will next Sunday host a family concert to raise funds for NTV host Janet Kanini Ikua who is battling lung cancer.

The TV girl was early this month diagnosed with stage four of lung cancer after months of struggling with it’s symptoms unknowingly.

Top Kenyan musicians and her colleagues in the media industry will stage a family concert on November 8, 2015 to raise money towards her treatment in India where she is admitted for treatment.

The concert will be hosted by comedian Churchill and will feature performances by Sauti Sol, P-Unit, Elani, Willy Paul, Juliani, Jaguar, Daddy Owen, Hart the band, Octopizzo, Rufftone, Khaligraph, Visita, Size 8, Kenrazy among others.

This concert will start from noon to 6.00 p.m at the Carnivore Grounds in Nairobi.

All proceeds shall go towards the cause.

Apart from the concert, a Facebook page ‘Janet Kanini Ikua Medical Fund’ has also been set up to help her offset the medical bill.

A fundraiser on crowd funding website ‘You Caring’ has also been launched with a target of Sh5 million ($50,000). So far the some Sh75,000 has been raised through the crowd funding website.

A M-Pesa paybill number 895790, account name Janet Kanini Ikua has also been opened.

Ms Ikua, a former NTV news anchor who now hosts a property show on the station, announced the initiatives on her Facebook account.
