For most people, food is just food, but for visiting Belgian celebrity chef, Olivier Bruckner, who is in town to indulge dinners with his culinary expertise, food is art.

Chef Olivier has been in the culinary arts since he was 16 years old and currently runs several successful fine dining restaurants in Belgium.

Over his successful career, he has served kings and Hollywood celebrities that include Academy award winner Susan Sarandon, American actor and producer Harrison Ford, and Hollywood A-lister Tom Cruise.

MEMORABLE EXPERIENCE

“When you pursue your passion it takes you places. My most memorable experience was serving the King of Belgium while I was still in Service school. Only the best class from the best schools are chosen each year and I made the cut. My entire family was so proud of me, at that moment I knew I would do this for the rest of my life,” Chef Olivier told Nairobi News during an interview.

Most professional chefs often open their own restaurants in their 40s, but Olivier opened his first fine dining restaurant when he was just 26. Since then he has had a string of successful restaurants.

Chef Olivier is in town as part of the Belgium week. After the huge success of last year, chef Olivier is happy to be back in Nairobi to add a touch of Belgian culinary flavors to Kenyan ingredients.
