Gospel musician Bahati plans a Mathare homecoming

After blasting Willy Paul for stealing his songs, gospel artist Kevin Bahati will be hosting a homecoming concert in Mathare on May 3.

The soft spoken Barua singer made the announcement days after penning an emotional open letter to his counterpart Willy Paul urging him to serve God and cease acting as though it’s a music competition.

Bahati, who was brought up in ABC children’s home in Mathare, had earlier stated in a past media interview that 2015 will be his year of giving back to the society.

He even adopted a young boy, Morgan, in December 2014 in an effort to give him a home since he was taken from the streets by a children’s home.

Bahati recently expressed his disappointment with colleague Willy Paul for snooping around producers to get his unreleased songs and creating similar lyrics.

He narrated how a song he had recorded under the title Mapenzi with producer Teddy B, was accessed by Willy Paul who went ahead and recorded a song with the same title.

“Already you have stolen my next new song that am supposed to release ‪#‎Maria from Still Alive studios and re-recorded it with a different title ‪#‎Salima and rushing to release it next month b4 I release mine,” he added in his open letter to Willy Paul.

Willy Paul has not responded to the allegations and has been promoting his latest hit Vigelegele that Bahati claimed was released to counter his Lover hit.
