Embakasi East MP Babu Owino to know his fate today
Embakasi East MP Babu Owino will on Friday, June 8, 2018, know his fate in an appeal case following nullification of his election.
Babu’s August election was nullified in a ruling Justice Joseph Kiplagat Sergon who cited widespread errors, malpractices.
The petitioner Jubilee’s opponent Francis Mureithi had accused Babu of electoral malpractice.
Babu appealed the court ruling that saw his election nullified and on Friday the judgment is set to be issued.
That notwithstanding, on Thursday, Babu welcomed Embakasi East residents to join him in solidarity stating that he will fight for his constituents to the end.

After the High Court nullification ruling, Babu went on a mercy seeking spree and on March 15 he begged President Uhuru Kenyatta to “remove him from the furnace,” now that the opposition and the government are reading from the same script after the famous handshake.
During the President’s State of the Nation Address on May 2, a desperate Babu went on interrupt the address shaking hands with the president as he spoke of the country’s unity and healing post election.
President Kenyatta later on May 30, during a public address, recognized the first-time MP’s presence, a move that excited the legislator.
