Atwoli’s son recuperating in hospital after minor surgery

Cotu Secretary General Francis Atwoli’s son Phillip is recuperating at Nairobi Hospital where he has been for the last two weeks after a minor operation.

Nairobi News has learnt that Phillip, who works at a parastatal in Nairobi, was initially under medical care at the High Dependency Unit for 10 days.

But the operation he said to have since been moved to the normal ward and is now said to be out of danger.

He is expected to be discharged from the hospital by end of this week.

In the meantime, Atwoli, 69, has reportedly been spending time at the facility tending to his son. Also at Phillip’s bedside is his wife.

FORCIBLY EVICTED

Besides, a number of high profile politicians, especially from Western Kenya, have been visiting Phillip at the hospital.

This development comes in the back of allegations the veteran trade unionist has neglected part of his family.

Just this past week, Roselinda who is one of Atwoli’s wives, accused him of forcibly evicting her and their 13-year-old son from their Kileleshwa home in Nairobi.

She filed a complaint with police, narrating how a visit to see their son degenerated into a furious exchange, culminating in her being forced out of the house together with the boy at 7pm.
