Kisumu artist who drew President Uhuru Kenyatta in a combat gear on Wednesday wished Raila Odinga a happy 70th birthday in a special way.

Collins ‘Jaduong’ Okello  unleashed a happy birthday portrait of Odinga captioned ‘Happy Birthday Baba’ through his official Facebook page.

Okello hit the headlines last year when he drew a portrait of the President, a feat that later earned him an invitation to State House, Nairobi, where he presented it as a gift on Mr Kenyatta’s 51st birthday.

Jaduong has decided to use his latest work to lighten the mood of Mr Odinga who recently lost his eldest son Fidel Castro Odinga.

The former Prime Minister turned 70 on Wednesday, with Kenyans wishing him a happy birthday even as he spent most of the day at Lee Funeral Home for the public viewing of his son’s body.

Among the leaders who wished Mr Odinga a happy birthday included Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko who tweeted, “I would like to take this opportunity to wish Hon. @RailaOdinga a happy birthday. The past few days have been hard, take heart Jakom.”

Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho tweeted, “HAPPY BIRTHDAY Rt. Hon. @RailaOdinga As we commemorate your birthday in this challenging time.”
