Arsenal fans’ joy as FA Cup in tour of Nairobi

The English FA Cup is in town. And Arsenal fans, known to be very loyal to their club, on Tuesday had a chance to pose with the trophy in Nairobi.

“It is great to have won the trophy. In Kenya we have a huge amount of fans and this trophy is a wonderful opportunity for those fans to view it in their home country.

“Development is a major theme in Arsenal and a lot of work is put to develop young players. Hopefully bringing this cup here will inspire the upcoming generation.

“Never say never because we are always keen to give our fans across the world an opportunity to watch the team and maybe one day we will get the chance to play in Kenya,” Manager Partner Services at Arsenal, Alex Smith, said.

Speaking at the viewing, Imperial Bank Head of Marketing & Sustainability, Muthoni Wachira, said: “We are happy with the partnership with Arsenal Football Club for the fans and we have previously sponsored some to attend live matches including the FA Cup final.”

“We know we have a huge fan base in Kenya and in Africa generally. We are always happy to have discussions and we have had them in the past to try and have a football match in Kenya and we would love to do it. We had a strong finish last season and we are looking to improve the squad this season. Head Partner Services at Arsenal, Gordon Tannock, said.
