Uhuru criticises ministers for snubbing his event
President Kenyatta has criticised three Cabinet secretaries for failing to show support for entrepreneurship and innovation projects for youth.
The President was concerned that the Industrialisation and Enterprise Development, Treasury and Education secretaries did not attend a forum meant to promote entrepreneurship among the youth.
He was speaking on Tuesday during the Youth Entrepreneurship Summit at Strathmore Business School in Nairobi, where he was accompanied by Devolution and Planning Secretary Anne Waiguru.
The President said it was a “sad story” that there was no government support for the function.
“Henry Rotich was supposed to be here, he is not in. Kaimenyi is nowhere to be seen. Adan Mohammed was supposed to be here, he is not in, but they are quick to show up for other functions,” he said.

Sources said Mr Mohammed, the Industrialisation secretary, was unwell, while Education’s Prof Jacob Kaimenyi, said: “Let me not comment on that, please.”
Mr Rotich did not pick our calls.
President Kenyatta also responded to critics of Kenya’s economic pacts with foreign governments, calling for tolerance.
“I strongly believe that tolerance pays, because the ideas and practices that change the world are born in the interchange of different views.
“That is why Kenya believes in the East African integration agenda. That is why we are dedicated to maintaining our old international partnerships while forging new ones.
“The future, I believe, belongs to those who are tolerant and those who are willing to engage across lines of race, religion, ethnicity and class,” he said.
